Crawfish
A crawfish couple took their son to school so that he may have a better life than they had. The school was taught by a sailfish. The teacher told the crawfish parents that she would teach their child every thing everything she knew. The parents left their child in the care of the sail fish and left for home. Sure as the teacher promised she made astounding progress in teaching the little crawfish to swim forward as opposed to his instinct to swim backwards. The child went home and returned the next day and was swimming backwards. The teacher focused her entire day on teaching the little crawfish to swim forward and again and as before be did wonderful. The next morning the child returned swimming backwards again. This time the teacher called the parents in for a conference. The teacher explained that their child does wonderful while at school but when he leaves he goes back to his old ways and she has to reteach him the same thing every day. The parents began to criticize the teacher and stating she had not done her best. The teacher explained that it is almost impossible for someone to change if they cling their old ways and remain in an enviroment that is counter productive. The parents refusing to be held accountable became angery and left.

Going backwards may get you somewhere but not where you need to be.
